The state of the nation's economy has definitely made a tremendous impact on "going green". People definitely having to do a "staycation" is a result of not having finances to do a "vacation". More people growing their own vegetables is a definite throwback to the "Victory Gardens" of WW II. More people are turning to the "old fashioned" way of doing things - using vinegar for cleaning and killing weeds and using baking soda in their laundry to soften clothes. Can it be that we will soon have a generation of people who know what "elbow grease" is and won't have to look at their elbows when they hear the expression to see if there is any grease on that body part?

"Going green" may well be a definite "boon" to our nation. More and more cities are electing to "compost" table scraps. This can only bode well for all of us. The fact that the major retailers have jumped on the bandwagon is a positive thing for all concerned. For example, it has long been known that instead of using chemicals on a dog who cannot get rid of fleas...a bath with Dawn takes care of the critters. Peroxide is a great disinfectant with which to wipe down your kitchen and bathroom counters without having to resort to strong chemicals. Yea - GREEN!
